Project Geologist

Katie Pressley is currently a certified Geologist in Training (GIT). She recently joined the DAVENPORT team to assist in the development of remediation reports for soil and groundwater contamination from underground storage tanks (USTs) for Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune (MCB CAMLEJ) and Marine Corps Air Station New River (MCASNR) per North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) guidelines and to perform environmental screenings for transit projects in North Carolina.  Katie has worked with the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS) and the local Conservation District throughout a semester long internship.  During the internship she helped review National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, delineated wetlands and watersheds, and assisted engineers in designing and implementing storage tanks and other best management practice techniques. She is skilled in using ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online to create, manage, and analyze geospatial data. She also has experience utilizing Global Positioning System (GPS) technology and the United States Army Corp of Engineer’s Hydrologic Engineering Center (USACE-HEC) computer programs to model surface and groundwater.
