Michael A. Davenport, Network Administrator & Field Operations Supervisor


GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS


Mr. Davenport has over six years of transportation experience with Davenport Transportation Consulting (DTC).  During these  years, he has conducted numerous traffic data collection projects in Virginia and across North Carolina.  He has communicated effectively with state and local government on traffic data collection issues, including arranging for temporary closure on sections of roadway.  He has been the field coordinator on many projects for JDE, which included multiple counts on numerous projects.


TECHNICAL SPECIALTIES


Mr. Davenport has extensive Traffic Data Collection experience, specifically with JAMAR traffic counting equipment, Metro, NuMetrics NC-97 Classifiers, and PEEK ADR-1000 Traffic counters. Mr. Davenport has managed several projects requiring knowledge of traffic and traffic control procedures.  He is fully versed in all aspects of emergency traffic control.

RELATED EXPERIENCE

Turning Movement Counts -  Davenport Transportation Consulting   In addition to work completed for various agencies and consultants, Mr. Davenport oversees all of the in house data collection.  To date he has been involved in over 800 turning movement counts.  We utilize Jamar Technologies DB-400 traffic data collectors for all of our turning movement counts.

I-64/I-77 Interstate Data Collection -  Virginia Department of Transportation
These projects involved coordinating with the Virginia Department of Transportation and Virginia State Police to shut down a portion of highway.
After the closure, Nu-Metrics NC 97 classifiers were placed at specific mile markers and traffic data was collected.  A count project for seven days at Zion Crossroads was also completed at the same time.  It involved 10 turning movement counts for a commercial development.

NCDOT Railroad Division - North Carolina Department of Transportation
This project involved placing counters at railroad crossings for a 24-hour period. The data was then placed into a spreadsheet and delivered to NCDOT.  We have completed over 1500 counts for this project.

 Hampton Roads Truck Survey - Street Smarts

This project involved collecting 48 hour classification data along I-64. The project area was from Williamsburg, Va to Hampton, VA. It also strected east to west along I - 664.
