John Townsend, PE, Director of Transportation Design

John Townsend is a Transportation Project Manager for DAVENPORT with over 10 years of transportation planning, engineering and design experience. He has worked with both private and public sector clients, and has proven knowledge and experience with municipal and state requirements. His experience also includes several facets of traffic engineering including the management, completion, signing and sealing of transportation studies; traffic impact analyses; corridor studies; traffic signal timing plans; traffic signal design; traffic calming; traffic signing/marking plans; traffic control plans; roadway design; and construction cost estimating. John's professional experience has provided a wide-range of consulting services for roadways, land development, and traffic signals. He is proficient with a number of transportation/engineering-related softwares including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, HCS 2000, Synchro, SimTraffic, StormCAD, FlowMaster, CulvertMaster, SIDRA Intersection and Rodel. John is also experienced with all aspects of project management including contract preparation, fee estimates, invoicing, accounts receivable and financial performance assessment.
