Business Development Manager - Davenport Transportation Consulting (DTC)
General: Position will support DTC's marketing and business development efforts. Position will also provide some administrative assistance to CAO (David Coburn) and President (John Davenport, Jr.).
Specific Duties:
- Support Office Directors and Project Managers in RFP preparation. This includes the preparation of client presentation materials, seminars, and research. Responsibilities will include the drafting and editing of materials and timely delivery of such.
- Organizing and Maintaining the currency of all Marketing and Business Development documents
- Maintain firm resumes and qualifications
- Assist in the development of written summaries of DTC projects - ie: project examples
- Review RFP postings as requested

- Maintain up-to-date lists of DBE and pre-qual certifications, including renewal dates

- Prepare DBE and pre-qual renewals
|
- Coordinate updates to business cards as needed
- Maintain firm contact database (Highrise)
- Maintain and promote firm's social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Support and coordinate updates to DTC's website including news releases and project examples
- Follow up/customer service calls for DTC work performed
- Maintain up-to-date lists of professional licenses for the firm and for staff, including renewal dates.
- Take appropriate action to avoid any lapses in licenses.
Position will be staffed to the Winston-Salem Office.
Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a closely related field
- Valid drivers license and safe driving record
- Computer literacy with the Internet and a high-level knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc. Knowledge of design program Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
- Ideal candidate shall possess at least two to five years of relevant and direct marketing and/or business development experience in the Architecture, Engineering and/or Construction field. Relevant experience such as previous outside sales experience with engineering firms and/or government is a plus. Current participation in relevant societies a plus.
- In addition to having strong interpersonal skills, the preferred candidate should have the following skills:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Ability to work in a high profile position that requires direct interaction with senior level clients
- Time management and organization skills, ability to multi-task, ability to manage deadlines while being highly organized
- Self motivated with the ability to work independently
- Ability to use own judgment while orchestrating new tasks - Quick thinker
- Ability to work in a non-structured environment
- Professional in attitude and appearance with polished communication skills.
- Desire to take on new challenges
This will be a full time position. He/She will report to David Coburn - CAO.
It is desired to fill this position by 1/1/2012.
