VDOT Central Traffic Engineering and Data Collection On-Call
Project Description

DAVENPORT is serving as a subconsultant to on this project which to date has included over 2,000 counts. DAVENPORT’s scope of services includes providing traffic data collection for cities and towns in the Metropolitan Richmond, VA area. Each request is unique and could include: computer simulation models, traffic data collection (speed, volume, classification, turning movements and travel time runs). Requests may include sign and signal analyses of existing as well as recommending revisions. Sign and signal plans could include concept drawings specifications for the installation of the traffic control devices. Unique Project Example One specific project completed under this agreement includes VDOT requesting turning movement counts along Springfield Road corridor in Henrico County. Work included 4 hours Directional Turning Movement Counts including segregated truck movements; 48 hour ADT counts, and 12 hour Directional Turning Movement Traffic Counts. The goal of the project was to determine existing levels of service for key locations along the corridor including volumes through the adjacent neighborhoods.
