DAVENPORT led the environmental team in providing the professional services necessary to assist Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune with the management of their Underground Storage Tank Program. The specific tasks of this program vary, but the overall goal was to identify, clean and monitor sites contaminated by past waste disposal and spills. At Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, the cleanup of hazardous waste disposal sites is not only required for compliance with federal and state regulations, it is essential for military preparedness and long-term sustainability of the base.
The scope of this ongoing effort included developing the annual sampling plan, reviewing and preparing annual monitoring reports, and preparing the Hadnot Point Fuel Farm bio-pulse evaluation report. Our team also held the responsibility to lead monthly and quarterly partnering conference calls and face-to-face meetings with the entire team, including, Navy Facilities and Engineering Command personnel, North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources personnel, and other consultants involved in the program to discuss the overall effort, milestones, and status updates on selected sites.
