Greenville Uptown Parking Deck
Project Description

As part of the City of Greenville’s revitalization plan for its Uptown Commercial District, a new four-story, 250-space parking deck was planned to be located at the southwest quadrant of the intersection of 4th Street and Cotanche Street. DAVENPORT served as part of the design team to provide transportation engineering support services. DAVENPORT’s role included conducting a transportation impact analysis to determine what, if any, intersection or roadway improvements would be needed. The analysis included traffic modeling for the project’s build year, as well as for five years after the parking deck was planned to open to the public. The traffic study included the two access driveways proposed for the parking deck and multiple other off-site study intersections.

DAVENPORT evaluated the level of service for all study intersections and provided a detailed vehicular queuing analysis to ensure proper function of the parking deck access driveways and surrounding intersections. DAVENPORT’s team coordinated our scope of work closely with the City of Greenville traffic engineer.
